Ghana police fails to arrest Police Cells Firearm Smuggler

The Accra Cantonments Police has failed to arrest a 23 years old lady who tried to smuggle a pistol concealed in a pack of food meant for a robbery suspect in police custody.

The police was able to intercepted the weapon but unable to arrest the lady.

According to the Police a young lady with a Nigerian accent came to the station with two packs of fried rice labelled with Papaye logo, to be delivered to a Nigerian who is on remand for alleged armed robbery.
When the food was vigilantly examined, a locally man-made pistol with one AA cartridge was found hidden in one pack with the food covering it.

Before the officers in charge could arrest her, the lady unbelievably vanished.

According to Greater Accra Police PRO, Efia Tengey, “a young lady aged about 23years with Nigerian accent came to the charge office on July 11, 2021, at about 4:45 pm, with two packs of Papaye labelled fast food to be served on a robbery remand prisoner in cells.”

“When the food was carefully inspected by the duty officer, a locally manufactured pistol with one AA cartridge was found concealed in one of the packs with the food covering it.”

She added that unfortunately, the lady managed to flee the scene. All efforts are underway to trace and arrest the lady.”
