#Ghana Immigration Service Launches Operation to Address Undocumented Migrants

Accra, Ghana – The Ghana Immigration Service has commenced an ongoing operation aimed at confirming the presence of undocumented migrants on the streets of Accra and other cities. The operation, which began in the early hours of Friday, May 16, 2025, is part of an effort to address the issue of undocumented migration in the country.
According to a statement signed by M. Amoako-Atta, Assistant Commissioner of Immigration and Head of Public Affairs, the service wishes to confirm that the operation is ongoing and will provide further details to the public in due course.
The statement assured the public that the outcomes of the operation are currently being assessed and will be made available as soon as possible.
The Ghana Immigration Service has urged undocumented migrants to come forward and regularize their status to avoid arrest and other consequences.
The operation is part of a broader effort by the Ghanaian government to address the issue of undocumented migration and ensure that all individuals living in the country are doing so lawfully.
