Some Ghanaians have raised concerns about the actions of Minority MPs who protested the arrest of Chairman Wontumi. According to reports, the MPs knew a warrant was issued for Wontumi’s arrest and that his bail conditions were set at GHC 50 million.
Critics argue that the MPs’ decision to mobilize supporters to protest Wontumi’s detention was inconsistent, given that they did not take similar action for other individuals facing similar circumstances, such as Alfred Agbesi Woyome, who had a bail condition of GHC 54 million in 2012.
The MPs’ actions have sparked debate, with some questioning their motivations and consistency.
