#Singaporean Investor Reveals $1.5 Million Donation to NDC

A Singaporean businessman, Toh You Kang, has made a shocking revelation about donating $1.5 million to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2024 election campaign. According to Kang, the funds were channeled through the party’s Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Emmanuel Nii Ashie-Moore. The donation was allegedly used to manufacture and distribute party-branded materials, including T-shirts, wristbands, caps, and booklets promoting the NDC’s “24-hour economy” policy.
Allegations of Human Rights Violations and Extortion
Kang’s revelation comes as part of a broader legal action he’s taken against Ashie-Moore, accusing him of human rights violations, unlawful detention, extortion, and business deception. Kang claims Ashie-Moore invoked the name of President John Dramani Mahama to extract more funds from him, leading him to believe that Mahama was aware of and supported the business-financing arrangement.
Business Dealings and Contract Allegations
The dispute between Kang and Ashie-Moore also involves allegations of a failed ECG contract worth millions of dollars. Kang claims he paid Ashie-Moore $800,000 between 2023 and 2024 as part of an arrangement for the contract, which ultimately didn’t materialize. Ashie-Moore has not publicly commented on the allegations, but Kang is seeking GH¢20 million in compensation for the alleged human rights abuses and business deception.
Ongoing Investigation
The case is currently before the Accra High Court, with Kang’s lawsuit against Ashie-Moore sparking a high-stakes dispute involving millions of dollars. The Economic Crime Office is also investigating Kang for allegedly stealing $2.8 million from Ashie-Moore and his partners.
