New Kejetia Market in flames - Ghanacrimereport

New Kejetia Market in flames

The newly built Kejetia Market located at the centre of Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region got into flames last Tuesday night, razing down some shops.
The timely intervention of personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) saved the fire situation from further deterioration as no casualty was recorded.
Briefing the ghanacrimereport.com on the incident, Managing Director of the market, Kofi Duffuor stated that the relevant professionals would be contacted to ascertain the cause of the fire.
He noted that this would be carried out Wednesday morning before the market is reopened to the general public to ensure the safety of their customers.
The Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Osei Assibey has hinted that professional electrical engineers are being tasked to work with the assembly and the security agencies to ensure safety.
