#Abronye’s Leadership in Shambles: NPP’s Bono Region Seat Count Plummets.

Alexander Afriyie
The performance of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bono Region has raised serious questions about the effectiveness of its leadership, particularly that of Regional Chairman Abronye. In the 2020 elections, the NPP had six parliamentary seats in the region, down from 11 in the previous elections, while the National Democratic Congress (NDC) gained ground, increasing its seats from one to six.
However, the situation took a drastic turn in the 2024 elections, where the NPP’s seat count in the Bono Region plummeted to just one, while the NDC surged to 11 seats. This significant decline has sparked widespread criticism of Abronye’s leadership and his ability to lead the party to victory in the region.
Criticism Mounts Against Abronye.
Many are now questioning the usefulness of Abronye and his executives in the Bono Region, given the party’s dismal performance. “What is the use of Abronye and his executives in Bono Region for NPP?” one critic asked. The party’s poor showing in the region has led to calls for a change in leadership and a re-evaluation of the party’s strategies.
As the NPP grapples with its declining fortunes in the Bono Region, it remains to be seen whether Abronye will be given another chance to turn things around or if the party will opt for fresh leadership. One thing is certain, however: the party’s performance in the region will be under close scrutiny in the coming months.
