#Chairman Wontumi Remains in EOCO Custody Over Unmet Bail Conditions.

By: Alexander Afriyie
Chairman Wontumi is still being held at the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) after failing to meet the bail conditions of GHC 50 million. The Minority MPs have staged a demonstration against the high bail bond, arguing it’s excessive.
Meanwhile, Deputy Attorney-General Justice Srem-Sai has confirmed that Chairman Wontumi is under investigation for multiple offenses, including fraud and money laundering. The investigation aims to prevent dissipation of suspected proceeds of crime.
A second probe involves allegations of Wontumi’s role in an international organized crime scheme, with EOCO working closely with international law enforcement partners. The situation remains ongoing. Alexander Afriyie
