The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect, Salim Mohammed, in connection with a daylight armed robbery at a jewellery shop in Adabraka, Accra. The robbery, which occurred on November 2, 2024, resulted in the theft of GH₵7.5 million from a gold transaction.
According to police reports, Salim Mohammed, also known as Fariwata, was arrested on November 20, 2025, at a hospital in Ashaiman where he had sought medical attention. The arrest followed months of intelligence-led operations.
The robbery involved armed suspects intercepting a vehicle carrying the cash, injuring the driver, and making off with the money. Salim Mohammed is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations. Efforts are underway to track down his accomplices and recover the stolen funds.
The Ghana Police Service is appealing for information from the public to aid in the arrest of the remaining suspects.
