#GHANA’S WASHINGTON DC EMBASSY RESUMES FULL OPERATIONS AFTER COMPREHENSIVE OVERHAUL.

Accra, May 27, 2025 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the reopening of the Ghanaian Embassy in Washington DC, United States of America, following a comprehensive overhaul of its operations. The embassy, which was previously closed due to recalls, suspensions, and dismissals, will resume full operations on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
A team of seasoned diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been deployed to the embassy to ensure a total systems overhaul, restore integrity, and complete ongoing structural reforms. An Information Technology (IT) team has already been deployed to reconfigure the website and payment platforms, removing all unofficial and unauthorized links associated with the IT system of the embassy.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has assured the general public that measures have been put in place to clear the backlog, and any inconvenience resulting from the necessary interventions is deeply regretted. The public can channel inquiries to the embassy’s email, phone numbers, or contact information provided.
The Ministry has also conveyed that the circumstances leading to the closure of the embassy have been brought to the attention of the Auditor-General and the Attorney-General of the Republic of Ghana for further action and appropriate sanctions.
