Koforidua, Ghana – Vera Akosua Asare, a 29-year-old woman, has been re-arrested by the police in Koforidua in connection with the acid attack on her boyfriend, Daniel Omane, who sadly succumbed to his injuries. The incident, which occurred in March, allegedly stemmed from suspicions of infidelity.
Asare had previously been granted bail by the Koforidua Circuit Court to take care of her two-year-old baby girl. However, following the death of Daniel Omane, the police have re-arrested her, and she is currently in custody.
The acid attack left Daniel Omane with life-threatening injuries, and he was referred to the Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery Center at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment. Despite efforts to save his life, he unfortunately passed away.
The family of the victim had expressed financial distress, having sold their plot of land to cover the rising medical bills. The case has sparked widespread concern, and many are calling for justice to be served.
