Lawyer Andy Kwame Appiah-Kubi, counsel for Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, has acknowledged that a legitimate warrant was issued for his client’s arrest by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO).
According to Appiah-Kubi, the warrant was valid, and Wontumi’s detention was carried out in accordance with the law. Wontumi was granted bail set at GHC 50 million. The case is ongoing, with the next steps expected to unfold in court. The acknowledgment of the warrant’s legitimacy has shed light on the legal proceedings surrounding Wontumi’s arrest.
