#NDC MP Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor Files Defamation Lawsuit Against NPP’s John Ntim Fordjour

A heated exchange between two Ghanaian lawmakers has taken a legal turn. Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, Member of Parliament for South Dayi and a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has filed a defamation lawsuit against Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, MP for Assin South and a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The tension between the two MPs is not new. A live TV appearance on Metro TV in April 2025 saw the lawmakers engage in a heated debate, with Dafeamekpor eventually withdrawing his comments after continued protests from the host. The argument centered around allegations made by Fordjour regarding suspicious flights at Kotoka International Airport, which Dafeamekpor felt were scandalous and unjustified.
The defamation lawsuit marks the latest development in the ongoing clash between the two politicians. Given their history of public disagreements, the outcome of this lawsuit will be closely watched by both parties and the Ghanaian public.
It’s worth noting that both Dafeamekpor and Fordjour have demonstrated strong convictions in their public statements. Dafeamekpor has been vocal about accountability and transparency in governance, while Fordjour has been involved in discussions about regulating churches and fake pastors. Fordjour has also been a sponsor of the Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, alongside Dafeamekpor and seven other MPs. Alexander Afriyie
