Petroleum Product Broker Wanted for Alleged Fraud

The Ghana Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has declared Mr. Jeremiah Darlington Quainoo, a 43-year-old petroleum product broker, wanted for allegedly defrauding a leading petroleum company of GH¢2,150,000. According to police documents, Quainoo fraudulently obtained petroleum products from the company and has since failed to honor payment.

The CID revealed that Quainoo issued several cheques, including one for GH¢650,000, which were dishonored upon presentation. This brings the total number of bounced cheques in the matter to five. Police Commander Chief Superintendent Seth Sewornu led the investigation division that probed the case.

An accomplice, Mr. Nii, was arrested in connection with the matter. Following his arrest, Quainoo issued the GH¢650,000 cheque, and Mr. Nii was granted bail. However, Quainoo has since gone into hiding and refused to comply with law enforcement invitations despite several efforts.

The CID is appealing to the public for information on Quainoo’s whereabouts and urges anyone with leads to contact them on +233 596053266 or +233 208599169. The police describe Quainoo’s actions as a deliberate attempt to defraud the company, citing his persistent disregard for law enforcement invitations and failure to settle the debt.

If you have any information about Mr. Quainoo’s whereabouts, please contact the CID immediately.
