Deborah Seyram Adablah, the social media personality who gained notoriety for her lawsuit against her alleged “sugar daddy” Ernest Kwasi Nimako, has been sentenced to 45 days in prison for contempt of court. The High Court in Accra found her guilty of defaming the judiciary in social media videos, where she accused the presiding judge, Justice John Bosco Nabarese, of bias and unprofessional conduct ¹.
Background of the Case
The controversy began when Adablah sued Nimako for breach of promise, claiming he failed to fulfill promises made during their relationship. The court ultimately ruled against her, stating that the relationship was immoral and no cause of action could arise from it. Adablah was ordered to return a disputed Honda Civic vehicle and pay GH¢6,000 in costs ¹.
Contempt of Court Charges
The court issued a bench warrant for Adablah’s arrest after videos surfaced on social media, where she made disparaging remarks about the judge handling her case. Following her conviction, Adablah took to TikTok to bid farewell to her followers, assuring them she would be back from prison “sooner rather than later” ².
Sentence and Reaction
Adablah was sentenced to 45 days in prison for contempt of court, with the court finding her guilty of undermining the integrity of the judiciary.
