According to Consul General Elliot Fertik, the embassy receives hundreds of complaints annually from victims who paid large sums for visa assistance, only to be denied.
In 2024, the embassy received over 61,000 visa applications, but only 25,000 were approved. Fertik emphasized that the visa application process is straightforward and can be completed by applicants themselves without third-party assistance.
