Ghanacrimereport can confirm that one person died on the spot while 10 other passengers sustained multiple degree of injuries when the vehicle on which they were travelling ran into a ditch at Attakrom near Adugyama in the Ahafo Ano South East District, Ashanti Region.
Remains of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue of the Mankranso Government Hospital for postmortem exercise, while the remaining injured 10 are on admission at the same health facility responding to treatment.
One of the injured (a male) is feared to have lost one of his hands in the carnage due to the depth of his injury.
Briefing the Ghanacrimereport.com, an eye witness said the Adugyama-Attakrom stretch of the Kumasi-Sunyani trunk road is in ongoing road construction and as dusty as it was, the driver of the vehicle lost sight and veered off the road, running into a ditch.
Some good Samaritans rushed to the scene to rescue the victims only to find one dead and the rest sustaining injuries, helping to convey the body of the deceased and the victims to the Mankranso Hospital.
The Mankranso Police are yet to confirm the incident as of press time.
