A thirty-four-year-old taxi driver, Kwabena Adu, is in police custody assisting in investigations into alleged murder of his girlfriend at Assin Adadientem in the Assin South District of the Central Region.
The remains of the victim, Priscilla Gyasiwaa locally known as Maadwoa have been deposited at the morgue of the St. Francis Xavier Hospital, Assin Fosu for preservation.
The Assin Fosu Police Divisional Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Daniel Kwaku Darko who confirmed this to the ghanacrimereport.com said his outfit could not give details of the incident until investigations are done.
However, checks made by the ghanacrimereport.com show that both the suspect and the victim had been in amorous relationship for the past six years.
The victim until her demise was unemployed and intimated to the suspect that she was no more interested in the relationship because the suspect had been able to help her find a job to do to earn the living, so she demanded a quit in immediacy.
This did not go well with the suspect and upon hearing, deceived the victim and lured her to the bush, under the pretense of finding her a job.
It was in the bush that he pulled machete to butcher the victim.
It is still not clear how scene of the murder was discovered, but family and friends of the victim who could not reach her on the phone, started suspecting foul play and after a search for her came to naught, lodged formal complaint at the police station and the suspect was subsequently arrested.
