Ashaiman: 4 suspected drug peddlers arrested

A bus carrying 892 slabs of dry leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp has been seized by police in Ashaiman.
Four people were arrested during the operation, the police said.
The suspects have been named as Boniface Abaya, Kwame Akwetey, both 31 years of age, Samuel Djandu, 30 and Godwin Agbessi, 29, the driver.
They later led the police to the Carl’s Hotel at Bethelehem, near Ashaiman, where some other suspects were arrested.
The suspects have been detained assisting police investigations.
The Benz bus with registration number GR-2913-G has since been impounded, a police report stated.
Trading narcotics is punishable by the laws of Ghana. Offenders may face not more than 20 years in jail.
