Boy, 16, drowns in River Pra at Seftwi Besibema

A sixteen-year-old Primary Six pupil met his untimely death when he drowned in River Pra at Sefwi Besibema, a community in Sefwi Akontombra District in the Western North Region.
The deceased was said to be swimming with a friend in the river when the mishap occurred.
He was rushed to the Sefwi Wiawso government hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.
His mortal remains have since been deposited at the morgue of the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Government Hospital for autopsy.
The father of the deceased, Mr. Eric Arthur who spoke to the ghanacrimereport.com revealed how he nearly got drown when he joined a few others to rush to the scene to save his own son.
“The river nearly took me away also after I tried saving my son upon hearing his drowning story”, the father sadly revealed while crying.
The Assembly Member for the Sefwi Besibema Electoral Area, told the ghanacrimereport.com that it was unfortunate to hear such an incident. He however revealed that he had warned the children in the area on several occasions not to go near the river for the fear of getting drowned but some were being recalcitrant when they sneaked in secretly to swim.
