Hon. Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A-Plus, a Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central Constituency, has issued a public apology to Hon. Dr. Dominic Ayine, the Attorney General, over a Facebook post that he acknowledges was inappropriate in tone and language.
The controversy arose after a fake Twitter account impersonating A-Plus made allegations against the Attorney General, which A-Plus claims he did not author or control. A-Plus subsequently responded to the Attorney General’s comments on the matter with a Facebook post, which he has now acknowledged was poorly worded and for which he has apologized.
In a statement, A-Plus clarified that he has no knowledge of or connection to an alleged scandal involving the National Service Secretariat (NSS) and emphasized his commitment to transparency and accountability as a public servant.
A-Plus has deleted the Facebook post in question and has urged Ghanaians to refer to his official Facebook page for accurate information on his stance regarding the sanitation levy.
The apology comes as a gesture of remorse and respect, with A-Plus acknowledging the importance of engaging in the fight against corruption with integrity, fairness, and mutual respect.
