Kumasi High Court Hands Down Life Imprisonment and 120-Year Sentence

The Kumasi High Court has sentenced Dominic Afriyie, a 36-year-old man, to life imprisonment for murder and an additional 120 years for robbery. Afriyie was found guilty of attacking and killing 43-year-old Dela Agbo Klu, a pharmacist and building contractor, at Klu’s residence in Kumasi.

The court, presided over by His Honour Abdul Razak with a seven-member jury, convicted Afriyie after a full trial. Afriyie had pleaded not guilty to the charges. According to the facts presented, Afriyie allegedly broke into Klu’s home at gunpoint, stole GHC 1500, a laptop, and two mobile phones, and fatally shot Klu.

The police arrested Afriyie based on intelligence when he planned another robbery in the same area. The court delivered the sentence, ensuring justice for the victim and his family.
