Female teacher, 27, commits suicide in Assin Fosu

There was shock and pain among residents of Assin Fosu in the Central Region when news broke out about a twenty-seven female teacher who hanged herself to death last Wednesday afternoon.
Catherine Ansah before her demise was said to have written her bank account details and some bible quotation on a sheet of paper before hanging herself in her late mother’s room, according to eye witness account.
The deceased held a Bachelor’s degree in Education who was newly posted teacher at Mankessim Nkwanta Basic School.
Believed to be a member of the Church of Later Day Saints, the bible texts she left behind were Luke 15:1 and Genesis 28:20.
Her body has been deposited at the morgue of St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu for autopsy.
Our reporter Ebenezer Owusu Ansah spoke to grandmother of the deceased who confirmed the death, with the grandma, Mary Pamfors, revealing that the deceased had returned from the hospital for treatment and fully recovered.
The grandma further said while the deceased had fully recovered, no one knew what was wrong again with her, leading to the suicide on Wednesday afternoon.
The Assin Fosu District Police Crime Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Daniel Darko who confirmed the suicide said his outfit had begun investigation into the incident.
