The Sunyani District Magistrate Court ‘A’ has referred Raphael Cubagee to the Judicial Police Officer (Jupo) at the Bono Regional Police Command to be prosecuted for defrauding the Sunyani Municipal Assembly by false pretence and for deceiving Public Officers at the assembly.
An arrest warrant was issued by the Magistrate Court for the arrest of Cubagee, on July 18, 2021.
The police managed to arrest him on July 21,2021 upon tip-off and arraigned him before the Court on that same day. He was was therefore granted bail for the court to determine whether or not there was a prima facie case against him.
Early Monday morning, the Presiding Judge had ruled that all the proceedings should be typed including the exhibits for the JUPO to begin prosecution.
The Assembly is making sure that justice is done to save the Sunyani Municipality, particularly Maxwell Mahama, the Chairman of Finance and Administration and others as part of efforts to contribute their quota to protecting the Assembly purse.
