Fake Pastor defrauds over 19 people of ¢100,000 on security recruiting scam

Fante Nyankumasi Police has arrested a 42-year-old fake pastor, Abraham Atto Mensah (Yaw) for defrauding 20 people to the tune of ¢100,000 after promising them of military, police, and other security service jobs.

The fraudster promised his victims from Assin South of securing them jobs within the Ghana Immigration Service, Military service, Ghana National Fire Service, Customs Division, and the Ghana Police service.

According to the South District police commander DSP Francis Andam Okyere, Fante Nyankumasi Police received many complaints from victims about the pastor Mensah’s infamous activities, hence his arrest.

He admitted of collecting monies from his 20 victims in order to secure them jobs in the security forces, but added that he is a middleman for one Akwa who resides in Accra.

Some of the victims said the suspect claimed he has a link with some top NPP government official who can help with their recruitment into the forces.

He pleaded to be forgiven as he is preparing to pay all the monies.

The suspect is in police custody assisting investigations.

The Police has advised the general public to be careful not to fall victim to recruitment scam. .
