Janet Ansaaku, 32, was subjected to murder attack when she allegedly refused marriage proposal from her cousin, Kpeyiri Neiba, 35, at Kpalbe in the Sawla District of the Savannah Region.
Her mutilated body has been deposited at the morgue of the Sawla District Hospital for autopsy and preservation.
In a Press Statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Savannah Regional Police Command, Inspector Adjekum Owusu, a copy of which is within the reach of the ghanacrimereport.com said the suspected murderer, Neiba has been arrested by the police.
The statement said family members of the deceased lodged formal complaint with the police that the deceased was missing.
It said upon receipt of the complaint, police began investigations by proceeding to the bush at Uro-Mekaa near Kpalbe where the deceased was found lying in a pool of blood and also in a position with a deep cut in the head which showed signs of a murder attack.
It further said the dead body was conveyed to the Sawla District Hospital for autopsy and the suspect was subsequently arrested.
The statement read that the suspect during interrogation confessed to the crime stating that the deceased failed to accept to marry him and that infuriated him, causing his disaffection and murder against her.
It said police would soon arraign the suspect before the court for prosecution for his murder charges.
